Support Worker - Home Care (£12.00 per hour)

To provide support to our service users as outlined in their personalised support plan; therefore promoting independence and allowing them to remain in their own homes.

Duties & responsibilities

•  To assist our service users to meet their basic hygiene needs, such as washing, bathing, showering and dressing, as described in their personalised care plan.

• To administer, prompt or supervise medication, if the client is unable to do this for themselves. This will only be undertaken after specific training in accordance with the Just Ask medication policy.

• To assist our service users to meet their nutritional needs such as assistance with eating and drinking as well as the preparation of snacks, drinks and meals as described in their personalised care plan.

• To encourage our service users to be independent by enabling them to do tasks themselves.

• To maintain basic, factual records of the service users care provision on every visit.

• To be able to report in an accurate and informative manner, any changes, concerns or dangers that may arise or have arisen in the service user's home. 

• To be able to respond effectively in an emergency situation, for example the collapse of a service user, in accordance with the policy of Just Ask.

• To work in accordance to the Just Ask health & safety policies and procedures, including wearing protective clothing when required.

• To treat all information in a confidential manner, respecting the service user's privacy.

• To assist our service users with domestic duties such as vacuuming, dusting, washing-up and bed-making as outlined in the service users support plan.

• To shop, collect pension and/or prescriptions, as well as other tasks outlined in the service user's support plan.

• Other duties that may be required, where they are safe and not unreasonable.
